I’m Jeffrey B. I was a service electrician for 30 years. One day, a 4,000-amp switchgear exploded while I was doing an inspection on it. It came out of nowhere and knocked me unconscious.

When I came to, I immediately started to put the flames out and tried to figure out what was going on. I had a high-pitch ring in my ears. I had lost my hearing.
