Payer Law is proud to support Miami Rescue Mission, known today as The Caring Place, an organization that has been a lifeline for South Florida’s most vulnerable residents for more than 100 years. What started in 1922 as a small outreach effort under a tent has grown into one of Miami-Dade and Broward County’s largest providers of emergency human services, now operating across more than 20 locations throughout the region.
Miami Rescue Mission’s work goes far beyond a warm meal and a bed for the night, though those essentials remain at the heart of what they do. The organization provides comprehensive residential programs designed to help men, women, and children move from crisis to stability. That includes access to healthcare, substance abuse treatment, and mental health support, alongside practical resources like job training, computer literacy classes, and education programs that prepare people for long-term employment.
What makes Miami Rescue Mission stand out is its focus on lasting change rather than short-term relief. Residents in their programs work toward graduation, often walking across a stage to receive a diploma and recognition for the progress they’ve made — a powerful symbol of the transformation the organization is built to support. Throughout the year, the Mission also hosts community outreach events, including holiday meals that serve thousands of Miami-Dade residents, along with clothing drives, haircuts, and other services for neighbors facing hard times.
